40 years ago I bought a Breville toasted sandwich maker. What a waste of time, space and money. Used it three times then it got binned.

Thanks Zacs. Just wondered as I have one and it's very good. x
An iron. I lent it to a friend as soon as I bought it. She still has it 15 years later. I've never missed it.
Dont know that you would call it a gadget .....

But a frisbee with led lights, so you could see it in the dark. Kept tripping over everything trying to catch it.
Spiralizer, used it once, rubbish. Plus it was too big for my cupboards so gave it to daughter.
George Forman grill. We've owned three of them and have never one. The latest gadget waiting to be got rid of is the juicer. Too much faff to clean.
I binned my George foreman too....
George Forman grills seem to be quite unpopular.
I lost the drip tray.

Thank you for your replies. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been beguiled into buying sheer crap.
So you're glad so many others have wasted their money jd? Miserable ***:-o.

Nothing of the sort. Just comforted by the fact that I am not the only fool on this planet.
I do like toastie makers though.
I use a Foreman style grill to do paninis, easier to clean than the proper toasted sandwich maker.
OH is the gadget person, he gets obsessions, he ordered a spiralizer and returned it because it was quite big
Just remembered ordering a swish Bosch food processor from AO, when I opened it I swear there were more bits than in an Apollo rocket. When I rang to ask about returning it she tried very hard to sell me something else, I think she went through the whole catalogue.
Do others find that cheap things often last longer? I went through so many Russell Hobbs kettles that I bought an own brand from Sainsburys, lasted far longer and cost about a third the price.
Besides my kettle I don't have any kitchen gadgets out. Everything is kept in a cupboard.
^^domestic goddess ^^:-)
Even my draining board is removable ☺
Always a big mistake to put kitchen equipment/gadgets in a cupboard as it's too much faff to get them out to use. All mine sit on the work surface ready for action - food processor, liquidiser, electric hand whisk, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, juicer.
An Amazon Echo , one of those boxes you talk to. Does nothing that you can't do easier on your smartphone, or Google. Plus the speaker is so small the music quality is terrible.
Someone gave me a cork stopper for a bottle of wine, never been used!
