Chrome Bathroom Shelf

Hi,
What should I use to paint my chrome shower shelf. It gets rusty after a while as it contains iron. Should I paint it or use a spray paint any suggestions please. Thanks

It won't matter, it'll still rust. I found the only sure way was to buy much more expensive and better quality chromed items for the bathroom.

You can get clear laquer for brass etc that stops tarnishing after you've cleaned it. That has worked well on our brasses but I don't know if it's waterproof. As one who goes back to the days when cars had chrome bumpers which you could never prevent rust showing through after a while, I'd say your best bet is to replace it with a better quality one. Things designed to be wetted should have thick chrome plated on copper over the steel frame.
