My daughter is currently in New York for four days, sightseeing. Her Airbnb apartment has no curtains in the bedroom windows. There is an office block opposite. I’ve said to her that there maybe mirror glazing so that anybody opposite wouldn’t be able to see into the bedroom.

She can’t tell because there is no road/street that she can look at from the ground .

Is it likely that the owners would have put in, mirror glazing.

She’s getting ready for bed in the wardrobe!! :)

Doubtful the owners would go to that expense in a city renowned for its window(s) into the private lives of its residents.

any shops nearby where she could get some stick-on window frosting?
Been there, seen it, lived it, nobody cares.

See the sights.
Mirror glazing works in opposite directions during the day and night. During the day (when it's brighter outside), people outside can't look in but those inside can see out. However at night (when it's brighter inside) people inside can only see themselves reflected in their window but their room looks like an illuminated fishtank to those looking in from outside. So it wouldn't be much use in a bedroom!
Foreigners are weird.
Don't they understand the concept of, and need for privacy ?

Thanks, all. Looks like it’s the wardrobe for the duration of the stay. Just until Wednesday though. :)
