Hi, thinking of buying one of these but not sure which one. Does anyone have one or know someone who has and could recommend it please or give me feedback on them? Thanks in advance for your comments.

I have the Gtech. It works well as a vacuum.
I have a problem with some arthritis in my base of thumb area and I now find it is heavy and uncomfortable.
Whats your budget?
I had one of these and found it very efficient.

what sort of stuff do you have to vacuum up from the stairs usually? pet hair? just dust? Mud?

Thank you jakep we really need a lightweight one but thanks.

Woof, I think OH decided no more than £60 ish...as we already have a cylinder vacuum for upstairs and an upright for down... so only need one for stairs.

dannyk13 thanks for that link, I will look at it later but seems ok from a quick look now.

Just seen your post bednobs... no pet hair but we do get some fluff from the carpet so not sure if I need a really powerful type or not.
probably not. I like my dyson, but it doesnt sound like you need that, and it's a bit outside your budget.
You know what? I am not sure for that budget, you’d get anything you would be happy with....This is from long experience.....
I have a Dyson. Excellent and very light, but a lot more than £60.
You're unlikely to get anything decent for £60
I agree with the above comments (and Which? says the same)....inexpensive vacs are a waste of money.
Dyson cordless every time for me (and Which? incidentally).
We have the same one that Danny recommended - in fact we have two because we liked it so much we bought another one to keep in the caravan. It has good suction and is very good for picking-up bits but I wouldn't compare it to a "proper" handheld, such as a Dyson. It's not designed for that job.

Thanks everyone. Well actually....we looked around online this arvo and read reviews on different ones and realised none of the cheaper ones would do the job. I'm now trying to persuade him indoors to consider the Dyson V7..... He's a stubborn old Ermm soul lol but I thinks after what you've all said it is either that or back to lugging the 'full-fat' ones we have onto the stairs...hmm.
Dyson every time for me. Might be worth having a look on amazon warehouse deals. They sometimes have good deals on brand new kit in damaged boxes
