Lights Keep Blowing

My two sons moved into a flat a couple of years ago which was fitted with energy saving bulbs. These have, over time, been replaced with LEDs but they keep blowing on a regular basis. They now have no lights working anywhere at all. Could this be because they should have replaced the energy saving bulbs with the same, or could it be a problem with the wiring? The sockets are all working fine and no fuses have blown on the box.

Well, thank you all x this is something I really don't k know about, so all advice is welcome! X
I had a similar problem and was told that it was my dimmer switch, apparantly energy saving bulbs must not be used if you control lighting with a dimmer switch, I assume same applies to LED bulbs, just a thought.
^^^not so. Lots of LED lamps sold now can be used with dimmer switches...just check the package it comes in.
Some LED lamps can be dimmed....however a special dimmer may be required.
