Blinds Positions

There are houses with windows looking directly into mine on both levels, and i'm not sure what position to put my binds in to stop people seeing in. Can any one shed any light on this please, there seems to be conflicting information on the internet regarding this.

It probably depends on the type of blinds that you have. Are they verticals, horizontals, rollers?

Have you thought about fitting frosted window film on, say, the bottom half of the affected windows? Can look really good - there are decorative designs as well as plain ones - and doesn't affect the light coming in to your property

their horizontals. I'm only renting the place so I'm not allowed to add anything. They installed them after I signed the lease, although the letting agent lead me to believe I would be able to put up curtain poles. They are really expensive ones, and I don't want to upset the landlord as he has been so nice, but i'm so paranoid people can see in. There is a full length window in the bathroom on the first floor and another house's window looks directly into it.

I have blinds in my property (would be difficult to put net curtains up too) what I do is angle them up slightly, also go outside and look directly at your windows to see if you can see in, that's what I do.

You can get poles for net curtains which are held in place by a spring, so no permanent fitting required.
If you don't like nets then djtdjt's suggestion of tilting the blinds upwards stops people seeing in from either the same level or above.

You could still go for film option and remove it when your tenancy ends, or landlord may see it as an enhancement and not want it remove. Just Google window film.

thank you so much for your suggestions. The blinds were letting in too much light in, so my landlord agreed to installing curtain poles in the bedrooms. Thank you so much for your suggestions, I think I will install the window film in a property that I buy.
