Alternatively, take it all apart and get some caustic soda from the chemist shop. Soak all the parts in it and then rinse. Shiny shiny shiny. Just remember to use gloves, it is VERY caustic.
Hi scarlett, Caustic soda is probably the strongest, most powerfull way to remove grease and gunge. However be carefull,
1. If you get it in powder form and then mix it with water never add water to the powder but add the powder to the water.
2. Even the smallest drop on your skin will have you rushing to the tap to wash it off and it is deceptively easy to splash on you when working.
3. Never let it come in contact with paint or plastics etc..... It likes those just as much as grease.
4. Never use any kind of aluminium container or utensile with caustic soda, it will get eaten away.
Come to think of it caustic soda can be a real pain in the ass to use, (but it sure can eat grease)
I use Fairy Power Spray on ovens and barbeque grills and anything else I can think of and it's brill. Spray it on, leave for max 30 mins (time depends on how caked on the stuff is) and then afterwards simply just wipe it off. It's so effortless and easy. Sometimes you might have do it twice if it's really bad but whilst you wait put your feet up and read the paper with a cup of coffee.
Ainsley Harriett was quite right advertising for this
