Hi everyone. So basically we distil our own water (if you see what comes out of the distiller you would too) and we were wondering if there any good containers to store it? We were using a stainless steel tank but we cleaned it today and there was a grey residue inside. What would be best?

Maybe it's the distiller that isn't working properly and leaving something in the water?
In the dark in a glass container with a very tightly fitting lid
There are plenty of options online if you google "potable water tank" Do you really mean you distil your water? Do you add minerals and so on to it afterwards? Its a while ago but its my understanding that drinking distilled water as your main source of water is not good for your health.....hang on
I suspect you haven't been cleaning your equipment properly after distilling.
yes, you may end up with a mineral deficiency if you only drink and use distilled water. At sea, many years ago now, it was permitted to use distilled sea water as drinking water provided a mineral supplement was added.
