A black christmas tree.....?

I first saw them in a department store a couple of years ago when only one was sold - now this year the shops can't keep pace with the demand and they're flying out the doors...!! Definitely not for me, but in the right setting with the right ornaments I think they could look quite stylish. What do you think?

i dont like them, im not one for tradition (so much so i searched for a wreath that wasnt green, red and gold!) but i find them so un-christmassy! not my cup of tea!

A novelty that'll wear off in a few years, if someone wants one, why not just buy one, (artificial), and paint it. Cheaper.

I said exactly the same i thought they sounded disgusting..until i went to a garden centre and saw one decorated it was beautifull and it stood out amongst the green ones they had decorated..I am tempted to get one for next year when they have some more stocks..If they are decorated in a tastefull way they look amazing..i have a colour theme for my tree i allways go with silver and purple and my decorations would look lovely on a black tree..

it was me patricia, i found a beautiful one in homebase (last place i looked) made of multi coloured baubles, it is fab and very different, doesnt go with my silver tree decs, but its outside, so i dont care lol and i got 20% bonus!!

You can get silver wreaths in Marks and Spencers and Asda has some. I'm a tradionalist my self. Red and Green and Gold. I think the black ones seem to be popular with the younger generation that go for minimal decor. Having seen any myselft yet.

You're right mullein, the one I saw a few years ago was unadorned and was only fit for a horror movie, but now that I've seen them with white, purple and sort of pearlised baubles and trimmings I've changed my mind.

its allright i dont mind its something to chat about..their is a picture of a black xmas tree on uktv style web site..they also tell you their is one to buy with 400 lights on it but its �90 thats a bit pricey..they will be cheaper next year..

I cant understand why someone would want a tree that looks like its been in a forest fire ! but there again i'am a traditionalist, i also hate the florecent dye used to colour heather. what's wrong with the real thing ?
