Has anybody else had the same problem as my daughter? Her 206 GTD (front) door central locking mechanism has failed, first on one side (fixed) now on the other. Peugeot stock replacements (90+!!) as they know this is a fault, but will not repalce under any warranty. Also it leaves the car unlockable.

Any solutions/suggestions. Yes, I've already told her to sell the damn thing!!

Hi

How old / what year is the car? I know the lock motors where upgraded early on in the 206s life.

Normally its water getting into the lock motors or control unit inside the car that makes the locks fail.

You could try to pick a secondhand one up from a scrapyard.

You mentioned Peugeot wont replace the motor under warranty?

Is the car still under its Peugeot warranty?

Car is a V Reg, but problem first occurred 18mths ago.

They mentioned water getting in...

No guarantees that a second hand one doesn't have the same problem.replacements are exact replicas of originals so don't know if they are upgraded in any way.

Not tried to replace under warranty, it's just frustrating in that THEY know that it is a fault, but they are happy to charge exorbitant prices for the replacements.

I had the exact same problem with a V reg 206 the central locking would engage for a few seconds and then kick back off leaving the car unlocked. Took it to the garage and told it was the actuators and is a common problem. I ended up having the central locking disengaged and just use the key now, its a pain, but the price of the parts its insane.
