thursday of course....isnt everyone?
It is already up and the whole house decorated.
Usually mid December, I would say 10th this year.

Normally Christmas Eve. Though a few days earlier this year, because we're away for Christmas and my 2 year old son will want to see one up before we leave.

A few years ago, when I lived alone, it used to be after the pub shut on Christmas Eve, I'd stagger home at 1 o'clock in the morning, snip a few bare, but interesting curly-shaped twigs from the honeysuckle bush outside, jam them into a big earthenware pot / vase type-thing with some lights and two baubles.

Why Thursday, mimififi?

Thursday is 1st of December, brach. I'm dying to put mine up due to it being the bab's 1st Christmas and therefore me dying to see her face when she spots the fairy lights. However, I'd feel daft putting them up sooner than anyone else I know, so I'm doing to do it the weekend before Christmas.
first saturday in december, same as it ever was (can't wait)
Usually I put mine up around the 10th December & they stay up until 12th night.

Doh !! 'Course it is, m' dear cuppa, mind you after the 28th, I tend to forget about what day of the month it is.

28th is, of course, my payday !!

of course, I might wait until saturday though depending on whether I can get my but out this chair and up into the attic. I start early as it takes me about a week to get the whole house totally deco'd out!

Also, I have a daughter whose birthday is on the 22nd of december, so things are hectic enough around that time without also puttin up decos, and she loves to have them up for her birthday!

OOooh, I'm getting a warm fuzzy feeling thinking about all the christmas fun. I know I moan about the capitalisation of christmas and detest that, but I LOVE all the fun and games and long walks, and open fires and chestnuts, and tinsel ........eeeeek. I'm so excited!
Around here it seems to be a game as to who can decorate their whole house [inside and out] with Christmas lights. One house nearby has been lit up since Nov 20.
Gosh, won't be putting mine up until the weekend of the 17th/18th. Still it will be a real tree and will last until New Year if we don't get it too soon. Also I'm off to New York (yippppeeeeeeeeeee) for a few days and won't be back until the 14th!
Dec 10th but if my grandaughter visits (she is 8 month) we could be doing it all over again. Bless her!
Well i'am off to my mums tomorrow with my ladder tied to my roof rack to get her fiber optic down from the loft. Artificial trees are not really my cup of tea but i can see why they appeal to some. The best unreal tree i ever saw was a singing tree, called Douglas Fir, which made me laugh, but the best picture was the one one the kids faces, as they stood there transfixed in the garden centre.....Magic !
If anyone is near Milton Keynes and looking for new tree decorations there is a German Market in the Central Shopping Area in which there is a stall selling Russian hand painted decorations which are absolute magic. We bought seven in a box for 22 - Mary, Joseph, 3 Wise Men, a Shepherd and an Angel - each is about 3" high and a wonderful, detailed and colourful work of art in itself, really special, and we got a Russian carrier bag to boot !! Just thought I'd mention it.

I usually put ours up between 10th & 15th Dec, depending on how busy I am. Can't wait!

(Our two youngest Granddaughters (little sisters), share the same birthday on 4 Dec, so we like to celebrate those before we start on Christmas tree/deco's, etc. Combined party in a hall for them on Sunday - looking forward to that).

lending my Christmas decorations to the village for the lighti9ng the tree party on 13th, so certainly not before hten.
Probably the 22nd, as if they go up too early I get bored of them by Jan 5th.

as much as I like Xmas, I don't know if I'll put up a tree...

PS, the 'rule' is don't put it up until 12 days before (or less) and it must be taken down before the 12 days after...I believe.

The November Xmas tree putter uppers - what's with that?!!

as soon as mr m fetches one in!! I have been pestering and friday looks possible for him to go to the market and get one..he said they have some in asda but they are not as big as the ones down the market..the dog has got his little tree up by his settee..he is patiently waiting for the big day..every so often he has a look around to see if he can see any presents for himself..hes had it i havnt got his yet!!
Christmas tree? Oh, that's what those funny green things are!

Last year my Christmas decorations consisted of one piece of tinsel which I placed around my computer monitor on New Year's Eve. I don't think I'll do anything as extravagant as that this year!
