after getting totally cheesed off with British gas and their bolier cover, i switched to corgi for cover. I needed to use them for the first time last weekend and their "24 hour" cover too 3 days to arrive.
Can anyone recommend a service that's not so rubbish?

My advice is to be your own insurer – having had no issues with my gas boiler over the last 5 years, with what I would have paid someone like British Gas for boiler cover over that period, I could pay for a new boiler to be installed.
I got a plumbing company to install my new boiler. They said that as long as I had a yearly service they would service the boiler free for five years. Might be worth phoning around.

British Gas are totally carp.

really? In 5 years i would have paid less than £1k and had it serviced every year
Domestic & General charge about £180 a year for full parts & labour, but still take 2 or 3 days to come out.
Find a local man (or woman).
Our boiler is not working. The man says he’ll be out to see us this month. Hmmm. Not convinced.

Seems like lots of boilers have all bugged up at the same time.

The weather isn’t freezing though. Put a jumper on, as my Yorkshire father would say.
