I personally don't find a problem with the bath/sink outlets but my wife came home with a metal snake for clearing the plug holes. She tried it on the drain hole in the bath and pulled nothing out. She expected a load of hair.Just to put her mind at rest I thought I would wack a few down the plugs and see if she notices a difference. Sort of placebo effect.

For years now, every six months or so I boil the kettle, yes the kettle you need it boiling, just pour one or two kettle fulls down each sink whole, then sprinkle lots of soda down, its cheap to by, follow up with half a kettle, I say half because you want to swill the soda into the u- bend and stop there with the hot water, more than that then you just swill all the soda away to quick before its had chance to work. It sounds long winded typing it here, but a 3/4 min job, I do the same with washing machine waste pipe, and never have this smell they go on about on TV.
