Anyone Here Got A Smart Meter?

Just wondering how much your electricity costs per hour when your house is 'resting', that is, using nothing other than what is plugged in overnight.
Mine seems to be 1p or 2p an hour.

Our house never rests, TV and fridge freezer are 24/7

Mine's the same plus router, CCTV cameras, Virgin box, NAS, desktop pc, various devices on charge, electric clocks and radios, echo devices....

I read somewhere that fridge/freezer costs £600/year to run.

That can't be right, Theland. I have two huge freezers and two fridges and my electricity bill isn't £1200 pa

More like £60 per year for a fridge freezer.

I just chose a random fridge/freezer and the running costs are quoted as £27.10 a year.

The link I looked at quoted £43.80 - more for an 'American' style fridge freezer.

I don't have a 'smart' meter, but I know my daily usage is always 6 units, give or take a smidgen.
I'd say that between 11pm and 7am the usage would be one unit or less, equating to a cost of no more than 14p ÷ 8 = 1·75p per hour.

Why dont you unplug or turn off everything to see if nothing is registered, Id want to know what it is thats on!! I assume they ar on standby so just turn them/it off.

I am not going to turn my fridges, freezers, router, CCTV cameras off overnight. I could turn my pc off but I find it convenient to leave it on and am prepared to put up with the expense. I do turn the monitor off whenever I'm not sat in front of it. I suppose there are a few things I could turn off but I don't think it's worth pulling the tv out and scrabbling around behind the unit playing 'guess the plug' to do so :)

I've forgotten the electric blankets. There is at least two on all night and I have mine on for 20 minutes, often longer.

no idea what it costs resting, as have tv, fridge freezer, but i negotiated a set sum for the month with EDF, and yes i do have a smart meter. As a sole occupant my bills are quite low. and i don't have central heating.

No I realise that, I thought you wanted to know what was causing the cost, if its only 2p an hour then why bother, also you dont unplug just turn the switch off on the wall socket?? ALL that should be on really is the fridge/anything being charged and thats it!!
