holly wreaths and upvc doors.

could anyone tell me how to attach a holly wreath to a upvc door without using anything that will damage the door. many thanx suzie

We used to have a knocker on ours and attach it to that.

Find your local electrical contractor's suppliers and ask for some cable straps with self-adhesive pads, you might even get them in a good DIY place These are pads about 20mm x 20mm with a self-adhesive tape on the back, which you can stick to the door and they come with flexible plastic cable fixing straps which you tighten around anything you want to hold in place (even cables).
When you have got fed up with the holly you can remove them the same as any other self-adhesive stuff.

Every year at about this time, i had the same problem, finding somewhere to hang the wreath. This year i solved the problem with a Georgian style brass knob, fixed to the middle of the door.

Hobby Craft, Bettaware Catalogue and Wilkinsons do wreath door hangers, we have one from hobby craft, we had to trim it slightly to fit our door but it looks great!

(still used cable ties on the door knocker though so it doesnt fall off and make it harder for anyone to nick!)

Wilkinsons do a hook specialy for UPVC doors if that any help

Lakeland shop sell those clear suction things with the hook that are specially for hanging wreaths on doors. I bought one last year for a UPVC door to stick on the glass. It worked a treat. One of those should work fine anywhere on your door.

thanx to everyone for the suggestions, I certainly have a few options to try here. To the ones who suggested attaching the wreath to the door knocker, unfortunately we do not have one, just a letterbox half way down the door. Many thanx again

i use a self adhesive cup hook bought very cheaply from wilkinsons etc and attach it to the glass panel. think it would also stick to upvc, just make sure it is clean and dry with no grit or grease, mine has never fell off and can be cleaned off with white spirit after christmas.
