Best Mattress... Again!
29 Answers
I got a new Emma mattress in November – and originally was pleased with it. But, as with all these memory foam mattresses, the side I sleep on has now sagged and dipped, and I am getting back pain again. I swivelled my mattress round today, and the other side is so much higher and firmer. I really like memory foam/pocket springs, but is there any way to get a mattress that doesn’t end up sagging after a few months?

^^^ Emma's guarantee covers "cracks, dents or other damages to the foam that have occurred despite proper use and handling of the mattress".
So, if Scarlett thinks that she's covered, she can get a replacement mattress simply by sending a photo of the damage:

However that might not help much if the replacement mattress is also going to sag.

The only mattress that I would ever buy is a natural latex one (no foam, no springs) made in UK by Dunlopillo. Pricey, but worth it.

Thanks all; Woofgang, I think Tempur is where I’m heading.. any recommendations as to the best one?
I did check out the reviews and they all looked positive. They also said that the mattress didn’t sag, unlike others. Not true!! Buen- that quote from Simba could’ve come from Emma. Same price too, although I found a deal so it was more like £400.

A refund is also an option and it also covers:
19.2 Our 10-year guarantee covers your mattress against the following faults:
19.2.b Any permanent sags or dips that occur within your mattress despite correct usage. The indentation should be greater than 2.5cm and visible to the naked eye. This does not include standard softening of the mattress after extensive use and is only deemed faulty if a permanent indent is apparent.
Though of course you still need to prove all that!
Yes, I have messaged them and they have already asked me to illustrate the problem with a spirit level – which I don’t have! It’s very difficult to prove a slight sag from a photograph; but if you sit on it one side is high and hard, and the other side is low and soft. Also, I only bought it in November, and although I have used it a lot, because of lockdown, I still think it shouldn’t have collapsed in the way that it has. I foresee another wrestle on my hands trying to prove this.
Separate to the guarantee, I've just noticed that some Emma mattresses have a 200-day trial period
https:/ /www.em ma-matt ress.co .uk/200 -night- trial/
Does yours qualify? (I'll save you the calculation. If you bought the mattress on 1 November, you're up to 144 nights use so far).

Buen- yes, mine came with 200 days to try it out. So you would think that they would give me a refund, no questions asked. I wish it was that easy! My sister tried to return hers after about a week, and they didn’t want to know. I shouldn’t need to prove anything with a spirit level, because I have this 200 day period to try it out. Thanks for reminding me!
memories erm, i remember when i had my first diggs, i bought an old spring bed used from an old lady up the road, it was out of her guest room that sadly was never used, bed must have been made in the 1950's had that bed for over 20yrs the most comfortable bed i ever slept in, as for new beds all a bit dodgy less you spend dearly.
at my age mmm not bothered, never know when your gonna pop off.
