Trying to buy their Skydd Oil online but only getting a Dutch website. I realised this when it wouldn’t accept my postcode, and local stores that had it in stock were in Holland! Is there a UK IKEA website where I can buy this online?

I just googled it, and on a Dutch? site it comes up as 'last chance to buy'...so maybe being discontinued or repackaged.

Can anyone recommend an oil that is similar for worktops? I had to buy a different brand last time as I couldn’t get the Skydd, and it was very watery, not as thick.

It's just food grade white mineral oil.

A few posts on various forums suggest that Skydd Oil was discontinued by Ikea in February.

Your criticism of the substitute that you purchased last time appears to be that it was too thin but googling finds plenty of references suggesting that it's the lower viscosity (i.e. thinner) oils that penetrate into wood best, indicating that they're actually the better type for your needs.

96% of reviewers rate this product as worth either 4 or 5 stars on Amazon, so perhaps it might be worth trying?
