Dishwasher Not Draining

Mum has a Beko dishwasher several years old. There is water in the bottom of the machine when programme has finished. Local handyman has checked the outlet pipe for blockages and kinks, the drain is clear but still water in the bottom. Is there anything else he could look at? Thanks for any help.

As a rule there are two things that will stop a dishwasher from emptying the water ..
The most likely is a blockage and the other is the drain pump is not working.
Did the handyman remove the drain hose and flush it through ?

Long shot, but when our dishwasher wouldn’t drain, it was caused by a small piece of broken glass preventing the impeller from turning.

Is the basket in the bottom of the machine clear? Rice and melon seeds used to accumulate in there stopping it draining.

Yes, hose was removed and flushed. I looked on YouTube at how to get to the impeller so I will ask him to check that. Mom is very good at not putting yucky stuff in the machine, she wipes her plates off with paper towel. Also regularly uses dishwasher cleaner.
