Foam Mattress

Maxie for the first time has peed on my comfortable mattress. I have tried everything today but I cannot get the ring off.

I rang Dreams re a new one and the mattress alone is £399. Don't want to pay that.

Any help please. The lady in the shop did say "take the cover off and so I said "oh is there a zip". but there is definitely no zip.

Mine is not the real macoy Memory foam but Apex foam (whatever that it is).

No you can't. Martin's suggestion is the best IMO, try and borrow a Vax or any other carpet/upholstery machine (you can also hire them). I have a good hand held one which will spray in cleaning solution and suck it up at the same time. Also as a cleaning product I've found nothing beats Dr Beckmann.

...and you can't dry-clean them either (an earlier suggestion of jj) - the solvents they use would dissolve the foam, you'd need HUGE amounts of it and you'd never get rid of all the vapour from it.

well it is now outside slaven with paste of suddy water. Over 4 garden chairs. - see how it goes tomorrow - will hose with either hot or cold water and then leave to dry for the next 5 days .

earlier on I dragged another bed to my front room and got it reasonable dressed. I'll be there for a few days and that is where my TV is too.

Hope everything goes well, - if not, if it dries out well, will end up getting protective mattress protector - instead of a bloody topper which I had though would have done the thing. but nhey ho. mistakes mistakes, but the I have to get the bed in to reasonable ship shape - as it is a lovely comfortable bed.

What's wrong with the 'bloody topper'? It should be good if the mattress underneath is comfortable

the topper didn't prevent the stain- apparently you need a "waterproof" mattress protector - I genuinely thought the topper would have done the job.

Oh, got you. Good luck with a waterproof mattress protector. In my considerable experience of them they are noisy and sweaty.

If anyone can recommend good quality waterproof mattress protectors that aren't noisy and sweaty I would be extremely grateful. I've bought some because the reviews say they aren't sweaty and they are.

well mattress is drip drying - eventually when it stops dripping I will bring it and let finish on rubber that I have. and it should dry with the heat in my house. then I am going to buy a waterproof mattress cover, Barry in Dunelm at £20 for double. I'll have to put up with the noise but surely, the sheepskin topper and sheet will stifle it a little bit. Wouldn't want to go through this again all that lugging but great I lost 2lbs 4ozs - only another 2 stone.

Barry - mattresses have dried off and in their respecticve beds and rooms. And we're all in our respective rooms. have a good night. guys xxxxxx
