I am sure it can, providing it is located on an external wall with access for vent to outside. But it might give a restless sleep. Proper fluing arrangements to dispose of the products of combustion are crucial to the safety of gas and oil appliances.

Although I am not sure I would want to share a room with the one I have installed.

I agree with Octavius . But why put the boiler in a bedroom? I am sure i could not sleep with a boiler continually turning on and off. If you live in a semi then what's wrong with the loft space. Just a suggestion!!!
Mines situated in a bedroom (didn`t want it in the kitchen) and its perfect, plus if its a new boiler thenit`ll probably be a condensing combi and boy they are whisper quiet. Infact i`ll stick my neck out and say that you can`t even hear them turning on/off
It must be a room sealed boiler, ideally situated in an externally vented cupboard, you can't be too sure the seals work! Take the advice of a CORGI registered gas fitter.

In a previous house we changed the boiler and installed it in a bedroom, with no installation problems, but it was surprising just how noisy it was if it fired up in the middle of the night.
The loft is where we have ours now, but it can be awkward to reach to check pressure. Try to locate it vertically above your most-used taps to keep pipe runs to a minimum.

If you are putting it in a bedroom best suggestion is a vaillant as they are the quietest boiler

my son has just had one fitted in the loft.the control panel is in the old airing cupboard. My friend had her combi fitted in the bedroom she has regretted it eversince as she can here it clicking on and off.(she sleeps in this bedroom)
