Washing Machine Won't Open.

I did a 'daily quick' wash last night. The washing machine wouldn't open. I left it to this morning but still it won't open. What to do now?

If you have a rinse cycle run that and then see if it will open.

Have you tried putting it on a rinse and spin and see what happens after

if the drain pipe is blocked maybe by a sock
then open the filter housing (putting down a towel first )
this will drain the drum and allow the door to open.
then look for the "sock" in the filter area

If it has finished the wash and there is no water in the drum you may have accidentally put the lock on. I have done this on my Bosch and have to hold in 2 of the front buttons for 10 seconds or so. The buttons actually have a tiny line connecting them with a tiny picture of a padlock above. What make and model machine do you have?

If you're really desperate you could have a look in the manual that came with the machine. eg, my Bosch gives instructions for disabling the childproof lock. If you've lost the manual there might be one online if you visit the manufacturer's website.

The instructions for my Bosch are completely different from carrot99's, so it's obviously model dependent not just manufacturer.

just it turn it off at the plug and wait for a few hours - it should open

if you turn the power to the machine off before it unlocks then it wont unlock

You might just need to dunt the door by the handle where the lock is.

It happened to me a few year ago and I dunted the door and that released it.

it has happened to me many times and I just turned it off for a good few hours allowing the machine to "mentally" go through a wash. Worked for me all the time.

My machine has a secret manual door release behind the panel at the bottom which also houses the filter.
What make and model is it?

I ran 'Rinse' and that seems to have done the job.
It's a Beko 7kg.
