It's about 3/4 pint capacity, made of copper with a straight brass handle extending from the side. There's a lip on the rim so it looks as though it's for pouring something.
It might be 19th Century.

Sandy to be honest it could be anything....cream jug...milk jug....beer..... photo?
Turkish coffee pot ?
Coffee pot sounds like. I have one which sounds the same given by coffee loving friend from Germany.
Does it have a lid?

The handle seems a bit long for a coffee pot. It might be to measure milk or some other liquid.
Mine hasn't. The previous year she gave me a coffee grinder.
It sounds like a warming jug, the long handle is so it can be placed in the embers of a fire
Is it something like this Sandy?

I think it's a warming pot. Similiar to the images MargoTester and Rowanwitch displayed.
If it's like the picture it's a Turkish coffee pot - it doesn't mean it is from Turkey it's the style of making coffee all over the Middle East & beyond. Coffee water & sugar are put in the pot & it is held over the fire, that is why the handle is so long, Nothing is filtered & you get the grounds in the bottom of your cup.
japanese pouring pot ?

Thank you, Chico.
Here's that image now.
Its for measuring a noggin of Ale perhaps. Definitely decanting something from a larger vessel (barrel) into a smaller (Tankard)?
I have told you what it is Sandy
Yup. I'm with Khandro on this one.
