Geraniums.

I have quite a few geraniums sown in a bed along a fence. The are still flowering beautifully. Would I need to dig them up and store away, hoping they will grow again or could I just cut them back and leave them. Many thanks for any tips.

I have never left geraniums in the ground. I re-seed every year, but you could give it a try, nothing to lose.

I think it depends where you live. You could probably get away with cutting back and leaving in if you're in the milder South.

Cuttings is a better method than storing for next year's plants. Nowadays we usually just ditch them and buy new in the spring rather than have pots to tend all winter.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I just bought them as geraniums so I have no idea of variety.
May just cut them back and chance them.

We have ours in pots and often just leave them out and see what happens. Two years ago they survived the winter and made good plants for that summer; we live in Berkshire and normally have very mild winters.
