As you may know I am getting fitted carpet in my living room but would like a half moon rug at the fire place. (I am going back to the olden days lol) They are hard to find but have found one that I like on Amazon. I do like "shaggy" so would 1.18" be shaggy to you.
I think 'shaggy-ish' might be my best answer to that!
Putting 'shaggy half moon rug' into Amazon's search field brings up some rugs mentioning 5cm (= 1.97") as their thickness. There's even one shaggy rug on the first page of results (but, alas, not a half moon one) with a quoted 8cm (= 3.15") thickness. So there are some shaggier ones available than the one you're currently looking at.
Every search I try, whether on Amazon, eBay or Google, keeps taking me back to exactly the same rug as I think that you're already looking at. i.e. this one Amazon.com User Recommendation?th=1
I think that your best bet might be to seek out an independent carpet shop in Belfast.
yes Chris that's the one I have in the basket but I have rung a few independent carpet sellers and none seem to sell them any more. Probably went out with the floods as in old fashioned. LOL
Chris - God bless the hand that reared you for looking for me. You are a good boy LOL
that's nice Barsel but I have one of those in grey in back bedroom and you would go on your ass on it - and I also do think they are for bedrooms not for living rooms but thanks again. Also sorry wee pet - Terracotta or Burnt Orange next time you look.
I'm just thinking that the place I am getting the fitted carpet (speckled) from - could maybe make me a half moon out of good thick quality carpet. I'll talk to them tomorrow.
Just looked at some other colours and there are some nice ones that would match the speckled - there was one called coffee, yellow tip or something. So I thought yes I will look at that tomorrow but - guess what - doesn't sell to Norn Ireland.
I did go round to my main carpet man but he had nothing so I went back to another independent carpet place where they sold loads of shaggy rugs but in rectangular shape so I bought the terracotta shaggiest ever rectangular and I am getting it cut and shaped into the half moon and bound/bind round the edges.
I also received a little canvas painting of zen painting of warm and soothing candles and I found a face painting mask £1 in Poundland I bought months ago. I slowly picked off the little diamonds and put them on the candles where it looks as if it is flickering when the light is on.
Hopefully this will be done next week, fitted carpet, half moon and my new tapestry cushion covers. And that's me for another couple of years. I hope.
