I am finding it increasingly difficult to drag my Miele Cat & Dog vac around my small flat. My cleaner comes once a fortnight and uses it but I need something I can use in between times. I can vac my flat in 10 minutes so that is a point to be considered as well I suppose. I'll pay what I have to pay to get what I want.

I no longer subscribe to Which where I could consider their Best Buy recommendation unfortunately but hopefully I can get some on here.

Thank you all.

Why not get the cleaner more frequently?

McM it would cost me three times as much a year as buying a vac which should last for many years for a start. Plus she fully is booked and doesn't want any more hours. She's very good and has had the same group of clients for many years. So a no go I'm afraid but thank you.
Well...most of the Best Buys in Which? are from Dyson and Samsung - and are all pretty pricey (£350, 400, 500+).
However, there are some cheaper BBs..the one that stands out is the Tineco A10 Hero (£150 ish)...only from Amazon.
We have a GTech air-ram. V good.
Interestingly, Which? doesn't think much of GTech!
GTech. So light and easy. I can carry it upstairs on my little finger. I did try a shark and a Dyson (lightweight) but returned them both and went back to Gtech.
I have 5 dogs... and the amount of unseen hair it picks up, is quite amazing.
I have a Vax Blade which I have no complaints about.
I'll just say- i use everybody else's on a daily basis, for many years. Miele, Dyson, Vax, Shark... every one you can think of. But there hasn't been one single time I haven't thought... should have just brought my own!
I think you might find what you are looking for here:-

Another vote for GTech. We have exactly the ones in Zac's link. Just brilliant. We paid £260 with a few little extras chucked in as well. Worth every penny.
Mine is the same as the link. Cheaper, but I didn't get the handheld part.1
I have a shark that didmantles...very awkward and heavy but does an excellent job. But the best was a cheapie from Amazon.
I'll look for a link.
If you are looking for a hand held vac and not one you push and pull, have a look at the one I use.
If I needed to replace mine, I would probably look around for a better price, but Argos deliver for about £2.95.
You can twist the little brush off for a more powerful clean.

Ok...not cordless, and I think I only had the hand held.

Wow I'm overwhelmed! Thanks ginge for the Which BB suggestion. I've had a look and it's a possible. The Gtech AirRAMS recommended first by Zacs, Pixie and Gness get 4.8* on most sites so I don't understand why Which don't rate them more highly. Again a definite possibility.
Danny, I have a Vax machine for washing my bedroom carpet. Even though I use my Miele to vacuum before I wash, your post has reminded me that the Vax always picks up what the Miele didn't. So thank you, another one for consideration.
Pasta, thank you but the last thing I need at my age and being disabled is "awkward and heavy" LOL.
Have a look at the Halo Capsule Cleaner. Weighs in at 2.6 kg.
Question Author
Barsel thank you but I'm not steady enough to use both hands.
Not to worry LB...I wasn't recommending the " awkward and heavy " for you. I've only stuck with it because it's excellent for pet hair. ;)
No idea why GTech would get a poor rating, LB. So light and easy to use but really picks up well too. Don't know about others but the way this moves makes it very easy on the back also.....no twisting the body for awkward spaces.
