Boiler Problem Update..
0 Answers
Some of you might remember I posted back in January about the combi boiler I had installed in January 2021 constantly losing pressure. I had some helpful replies which I was grateful for.
Because the boiler was continuing to lose pressure I once again contacted the manufacturer a few weeks ago. They had already been out 5 times and had replaced many parts. They told me they were not prepared to come out again as they had virtually rebuilt the boiler with the parts they had replaced and told me to get back to the installer.
I contacted him and this time he did actually reply. He asked countless questions about the problems I had experienced plus questions about my previous combi boiler. I replied over 3 weeks ago and have not received a reply.
I went to a local plumbers merchants earlier this week as I wasn't convinced the installer had used an inhibitor and wanted to know if there was something I could use to test if this was actually in the system. They put me in touch with a lovely local GasSafe man who came to my home yesterday.
Like "The Builder" and others suggested, he believes I have a very small leak on the system but it is so small that it does evaporate before showing on any walls/ceiling etc. There was inhibitor in the system but quite weak. This he said was possibly due to me having to repressurise so many times. Anyway, is coming back next Monday to put some leak sealant in the system and hopes it will work. He is also going to put a magnacleanse filter on. Now this is something that was clearly mentioned (and still is) on the installer's website that with every new combi boiler he would fit one free. When I queried that one hadn't been fitted, he told me it was not on his quote. He also stated I didn't live in a hard water area but I most definitely do.
I am now having to pay for this filter and I don't think (unless I am wrong) I have any redress to the installer not that he would pay as he takes great pride in ignoring most of my messages! It makes me mad that he can clearly state something on his website but doesn't keep to his promise. I now hope and pray this leak sealant does the trick and I no longer have pressure issues. I thank you for your previous answers and help
