I don't know how they work but presumably you can buy another card to use until you can get a refund on the lost one?
Have you tried your local shop where you get your gas from? I know in ours we have the spare gas cards behind the counter. We aren't supposed to give them out unless BG ring and tell us who is coming in but if you beg and plead with the shop assistant they may feel sorry for you and let you have one.
I feel very sorry for you - I have just suffered 12 months of hassle from the so-called "caring company" If you have nothing better to do on Boxing Day, phone 0845 600 0055 (and wait for hours) or try # * very quickly[I never said that...!] Good luck
I felt very sorry for you but didn't have any practical advice to offer as I've never used a meter card. Do hope you managed to sort out your problem before Christmas?
Hey, sorry to hear about all your problems with your gas card. I actually work in a British Gas call centre for gas pre-payment (0845 600 0055). Unfortunatly as part of my job i hear these stories every single day. Due to the time of year all the agents who work in the call centre are under enormas pressure to get the que's down, we have targets to hit as well. That probably why the 'caring' image has slowly faded. By the way, if you do hit star on ur phone before any answers you are likley to be put through to the incorrect department, meaning been put on hold to transfer, and then having to wait again. In the summer, call volumes are low so you will not experiance any problems. Once again, i am sorry for all the issues you have had with British Gas.
