I have a christening robe passed down to me which is about 120 years old. I'm not sure what to do with it - do you think a museum would take it? My family don't want it and seems too special for a charity shop.
I doubt a museum would want it, there are lots for sale on eBay for very little money. That was a time when every child was Christened in a gown and the gown passed down the family so they are still quite common.
I would give it to a charity shop.
Maybe save it for your descendants to be christened in. Just because the rest of the family see no value in it, doesn't mean your branch can't carry on the family tradition.
