Exterior door sill rotten

Does anyone have any pointers of how to replace a rotten door sill

The only thing i can think of is make sure you remove every single piece of the old sill whether it appears rotten or not, then replace your exterior sill with a quality hardwood one ie Teak if possible and treat it with a suitable oil. check for signs that may have caused your old one to rot, ie do you have a suitable storm board on the door ?
