Beko tv scrolling channels - can't stop it- help.

My nephew has given me his tv (Beko) he doesn't have the remote so I tried to programme a generic one. It didn't work and worse the tv is now insisting on scrolling through all 99 channels without stopping. Can anyone make any suggestions?

It may be that the key which allows the channel to be changed up or down is stuck because it is jammed or some sticky substance has got inside.
