use simple green at the recommended dilution with cold water as a prewash

Dylon make a stain removal product (you can get it from Tescos) that works on all types of fat and grease. It's a spotting device you dab on just before you wash. My wife uses it all the time as I ivariably spill fat, grease, tar and anything else you can spill all over myself. Stubborn stains may need more than one go!
