Is it possible to buy an attachment for the hose pipe that lets you turn the water on and off but it not pressurised. I’m tired of choosing between jet, shower or mist etc and just want the water to come out of the hose pipe as it would normally without an attachment. But I would like to be able to control the on/off without going back to the tap.

An inline tap is primarily intended to be used to join two lengths of hosepipe together. However if you simply connect it to the garden end of your hosepipe, it will perform the function that you require:
