As I own neither a washing machine nor a dishwasher, I might not be the best person to answer that! However the online consensus appears to answer "No" to your question.

Please IGNORE my reference to Dr B's washing machine cleaner and substitute the dishwasher one for it!!!

If you regularly use the basic programme, run it occasionally on the hotter 'pots and pans' wash.
