House Insurance schedule policy  say 'roof '

Does that mean the main roof ,only ?

Or would that include other roofs , like the roof on the upstairs front bay window / the roof on the canopy over the front door / the roof on a lean to, on the side of the house ?

Main only I would say (try a claim on the one of the others and watch them squirm out of it).

They are generally only bothered about flat rooves that are more than 30% of the total roof space of the property.

EG I have a flat roof on my garage but it's approx 12% of the total roof so no special consideration. if the whole property has a flat roof they'll charge more and some won't insure it at all.

The policy refers to the roof being constructed of slate / tile / concrete .

The three mentioned other areas are less than 30 % of the total roof space . Would they be bothered  if the roof on the three other mentioned  areas are constructed of other materials like lead/rubber/felt ?

no.

So felt roofing isn't a problem even if you don't have any flat roof areas -  or is it not a problem , because the flat roof areas are less than 30 % of the total roof space ?

It's a problem if it's the main roof not if less than 30% of the overall space. just ask if not sure companies vary I'm just giving you what I know from my experience.
