Good morning. We have a marble effect fireplace surround and we want to paint it, what good quality paint do I have to use. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Try Bedec Multi Surface Paint..its v good.

Paints have improved a lot in recent years. Several 'multi suface' paints around now. Bedec is certainly one of the good ones. Even the humble 'Leyland' produce one.

They're usually painted to finish, but if you want to go down a more traditional route, you can use a multi-surface primer. I've always used Zinsser specialist primers. Then you can undercoat and finish with whatever you like in standard or colour-mixed.

The builder. I just been to the DIY shop and got Rainbow.. The one paint+primer in one.. So I will give that a go.. Ta

 

We've not been told what the existing surface is apart from 'marble effect'. It could be wood, metal, etc. Would that affect the choice of paint?
