It was about 2 months in 2019. Labour should win but

I sense huge fear among the Labour party and their supporters. The spectre of Kinnochio celebrating "victory" in 1992 looms large. The polls are great yet they know that a world record swing is needed to overturn the Tory majority. The multiple by-election wins buoy the mood yet the undeniable knowledge that by-elections usually revert at the next GE injects a slug of fear. We are miles ahead how can we lose? Yet mini crises emerge like a cruel game of Whack a mole. Doubt creeps in, can we lose from here? Is that possible? Why in our 124 year existence have we been in power only 24 years? Is there something we are missing? How can the Tories have been in power for 70 of those years?

TTT it will not affect me in any way who wins the GE .As you know I do not live in the UK But I DO take an interest in UK politics as you also know .But I will cast my vote in the GE as an Expat without even stepping foot on UK soil thanks to the present Tory Govt.

You can't claim not to live in the UK just because you live on an island, Gully. The Isle of Wight doesn't count

Question Author

13:41 well you've been bawling your eyes out since Boris won in 2019. You claim to have registered to vote so for someone who doesn't care you seem to care enough to post every day about it.

Chances are that you won't get a chance to find out this time Tora.

I suspect that Gully will make a worse winner than he does a loser.

Question Author

TBH I'm not bothered about Labour getting it. It wont affect me. It's saucepans that will get shafted. It'll be fun to see what gulliver posts if labour win.

If TGM was about today after Thursdays disastrous election results He would have said "This is not the end .It is not even the beginning of the end.But it is perhaps the end of the beginning of the Tory Party.    If TGL was about she would have said "The lady is not for turning"   *But the voters were*.

TTT will say   "Have a day off"....."End of"

Question Author

I am delighted to be mentioned in the same post as our two greatest leaders.

"Saucepans"?

The labour tax on kitchenware likely to hit hard then?

Question Author

oh dear, my superpower is in effect again!

"Saucepan lid" = "Kid"

As do Bin Lid, Dustbin Lid, God Forbid, Teapot Lid & Tin Lid.

Gulliver despises the Tories 3T,Gulliver despises the SNP 3T,whats not to like about Gulliver 3T?

GULLIVER, do you despise the SNP?

Thank you Corby. If you spoke common English Tora, you will probably find your "superpower" will deminish.

Then again, there are times when not understanding the garbage you write is a blessing.

Question Author

Untwist the alans me old china, you've understood it all before.

Never seen you use the word "saucepans" before. And my Alans are utterly comfortable and non-twisty thank you.

some signs of desperation in that OP ("huge fear", ha). Still, coming from the man who voted for Truss as party leader, he'll know all about despair. I look forward to the odds on Starmer lasting longer than a lettuce. 🌱

Question Author

Yes I preferred Truss over Sunak, still do but we should never have got rid of Boris he was a superb Party leader and PM.

//I look forward to the odds on Starmer lasting longer than a lettuce. //

The same WEF could easily put paid to him and on the other side he will have the far left Unions wanting to install someone more to their taste.  Fun to come :-)
