We got some new doors and door frames recently. Now when the doors close and hit off the frame it makes quite a clunky noisy sound of wood on wood.
I bought some little silicone pads and stuck them on the frames and although they helped, it also meant that the doors don't latch easily so it defeats the purpose and you have to firmly close them which again causes noise.
I was thinking maybe a thin strip of felt around the frames where the door meets it might dull the sound upon closing.
Does anyone think that would work, or have another solution to quieten the noise when the doors close?
Thanks.

This actually worked pretty well to dull the noise of the doors closing. The only problem was that it was double sided sticky, so I had to leave the paper on, but it's a small price to pay.
I'm thinking that maybe over time as we paint the frames out will also stop this from happening
