Hi I'm in the process of selling my house and have noticed in the corner of my living behind the TV ( where they drilled a hole for the cable TV) that what looks like to damp covering a small portion of the bottom corner of the wall and the skirting. Also in our bedroom in the far upper right corner the paper actually felt wet. Both these have only apeared in the winter months and our house does suffer with condensation ( we had d/glazing fitted 18mnths ago) We moved in 3 years ago and in the survey report nothing was mentioned of any damp. Could this be just condensation, and if not what is the best and cheapest way of finding out if it is actually damp and fixing so we can sell our house? Please help

In the living room look on the outside to see if anything is piled up on the outside wall of the house or anything dripping from above and splashing (the gutter?). That is the most likley cause of damp in one single place if it is damp. In the bedroom, it is the corner of the dwelling, perhaps on the north side of the house? - in which case it is exposed to the most severe of the elements and it may be damp getting in from rain, of from leaking guttering.

Condensation occurs when warm but moist air in the house meets a cold surface. Possible in the bedroom, most unlikely in the Living Room in the position you describe.

Probably is condensation and lack of air circulation, this is difficult to determine this time of year but you could try a fan heater on the affected areas to dry it out. Also check you TV aerial lead outside. It should have a downward drip loop before going through the wall to stop rainwater from running along the lead to inside.
