Spray the marker stain with hairspray and then scrub. May need to repeat it.
Try leaving a cottton ball soaked with rubbing alcohol on the shirt, when the ball is dry pick it up, it should have absorbed most or all of the stain.
I know you said you tried hairspray, but it may just need more 'elbow grease'.
Another site says this:
1. Sponge the affected area gently with a small amount of dry-cleaning solvent.
2. Blot with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel.
3. Mix 1 tsp. of a neutral detergent with 1 c. (cup?) lukewarm water. Blot the stain with this solution.
4. Dab with rubbing alcohol and blot.
5. Sponge with clean water and blot again.
I hope one of these will do the trick.
