i am looking for supports for my wooden and metal clothes prop in the garden.As they keep falling forward and making washing dirty.someone v kindly suggested a streecher, a length of pipe as known in Scotland. Does anyone know where i could get it in west london?also has anyone got any ideas for support for them wooden clothes prop. when i bought these two props they didn't have any support on the bottom. A stretcher is usually a piece of wood whith a round kinda sharp at one end a "V" at the other and is at least 24" longer than the height of the rope. Better still you can by plasticclad/metal ones at any Ironmongers or DIY places that adjust to the required length.
My clothes prop used to keep pushing the washing to one side and then fall down, I eventually decided that it was the pegs which weren't tight enough on the line. After trying a few different pegs I now use Tescos which seem to stop the prop from falling over to one side.
