HELP!! Chewing gum stuck in my pocket!

Hi,

I have just made the grim discovery of chewing gum in my beige jacket pocket after washing it and taking it out of the dryer!

It was a peice of Extra which had a hard shell and has now (obviously) melted and has made a grease(?) stain on the front of the pocket. I can't even open the pocket as it is gummed shut! What can I do?

Suggestions please!!

Can't help with the greasy mark but to get the thick of the gum out- pop the jacket in the freezer so the gum goes solid and then scratch it off.

white spirit will do it my daughter sat in chewing gum then sat on her car seat what a mess but it all came off with white spirit

as poppy said put it in a freezer in a polythene bag first to rid the gum. as for the stain my daughter in law swears by spraying a stain with hairspray first then using a clean damp towel to rub out the stain.hope this helps.
