I saw the first daffodil this morning! Does this mean Spring is not far away?

Might mean it was an early variety of Daff. OTOH the birds in our garden are pairing up and chasing each other, so maybe it is.

I do hope so! There's something about Spring. Much better than the Summer months.

Spring starts on 21st (or 22nd) March (Vernal Equinox) every year. Its never any earlier (or later). [Just being pedantic!!]

On my main road which has no pavement (just grass verges) it is covered with the leaves of daffodils coming up to bloom. My garden also has daffodils coming up so I would herald this as the onset to Spring. Roll on the warmth of summer!
Ah, well, if we are being pedantic, how come Summer starts on Midsummers Day?
