I've always found application of a specialist cleaner followed by a power washer works. You can get these at any decent DIY chain - usually in a spray. You can hire a power washer for half a day or borrow one off a neighbour.

The only drawback is you may end up with a clean patch and have to power wash the whole area and then re-sand.

www.pavingexpert.com/stains is a good place to start! It has great idea for both shop-bought remedies as well as putting down cat litter to soak up the residue on newly dripped oil!

Good luck!

if you look on lakeland.co.uk (in the bargain section )they have a product on offer for this purpose.
