Hi All.

My house is cold, I am cold, it's cold outside and I don't like it!!

I recently had a new boiler installed and everything was fine until two days ago. I have 9 radiators and 2 of them don't seem to be getting hot anymore. I've bled every one of them and don't think there's an airlock anywhere. They are all turned up and I have checked and rechecked the thermostat. It's definitely at my desired temperature. The two radiators are not next to each other, one in living room and one in back bedroom. Anyone got any ideas?

PS My fingers have nearly fallen off typing this. Its so cold, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Call the installer/plumber back...........the guy who did the job....he should fix it !

They may have air trapped in them. Open the little screw at the top with a radiator key until water comes out (hold towel underneath to catch the water). As soon as the water comes out close the screw.

I had a new boiler and radiators fitted a few months ago and had the same problem two weeks ago. Although I had to fit new kitchen taps around the same time the hot tap was not closing completely. This resulted in the system thinking that hot water was needed and giving all heat to the water system and none to the radiators. Yes, I thought it was a load of codswallop as well but since then I`ve made sure all taps are completely off and have had no more problems with radiators.

Just to see if they are working turn your other 6 rads to the off positio and leave one that was working on along with the faulty 2. If they are working with both valves fully open, open others one at a time, but turn the return valves to shut and then back a bit until rad heats. go round each one sort of balancing them until all are working.

First of course make sure the 2 faulty ones are not shutting down on the Thermostatic valves if you have them.

Thanks all. Managed to get them working with your fab advice!! Dunno how though, just twiddled with them and now my living room is piping hot!!! Aah, just how I like it!!
