Celling Light Tapping Noise

A few days ago my celling light fitting started making tapping noise when it was switched on. I think the porblem may be due to the transformer in the light fitting.


However the same problem occured in the garage the other day and the noise is coming from the junction box. Any ideas on why this could be happening? thanks

At first I thought you may have bats or mice in the loft until you mentioned the junction box, but now I'm baffled ?
