New Hoover

Have had 2 Hoover TurboPower uprights in the last couple of years and both have broken in the same way. They won't stay 'parked' upright 'cos the little foot button mechanism has broke. So we need a new hoover, preferably an upright. Any recommendations?

You cannot beat getting a Kirby hoover, we have had ours for 10 years now, it is possible to get it serviced by Kirbys. A bit expensive though,

Thanks markja, but thats a bit far away. We had the Hoover service engineer out 3 times to the first one. Absolute waste of time!

I bought a Dyson about 8 years back, and apart from a replacement fittting which wasn't essential to it working, it has never had problems.

If 2 have broken, i think you are nuts to want another. There are so many vacuums out there you dont have to stick with hoover.

have to agree about about dyson, i bought a reconditioned dc01 about 6 years ago and its still works perfectly.

Thats why I'm asking peanut. I don't want a Hoover, I want a hoover(generic name).

gotta be dyson, no questions asked. if you have pets, its gotta be the dc14 animal, if not the dc14sy, check out prices on pricerunner.co.uk tho cos they don't half vary. I want a newer one and in shops 299 but on web 219! so shop before you buy.... poglet xxx happy hoovering (or vacuuming for peanuts benefit)!

Yes I have two dogs Rough Collies with very long and thick fur. I wouldnt get anything other than a Dyson. Look on Ebay very good offers on there.
