5 Answers
Hi,
Can anybody help me with this, i was given an amaryllis for christmas, which has had two beautiful shoots with four flower heads on each one, which have now died, and also three leaves, which are still healthy. Is it possible to keep it through the summer to flower again next year? If so can you please tell me how i do this. Thanks

Every time I've ended up with lots of healthy leaves but never another flower bud so if somebody on this site can come up with a magic answer to restore them I'd also be delighted to know how it's done.
Got knows what happened then!! To continue:When the flowers die, cut off the stems 2" from base, leaving the leaves. When all frosts have ceased, put pot outside. Feed occasionally during the year; in October cut off leaves 1" above bulb, put pot in warm room for two weeks, to dry off, move pot to cool room for 8-10 weeks. Start watering around Christmas, it will bloom in Spring.
