This is a question for crafters. Can anyone recommend a glue which will stick embellishments to the front of card?

I have already tried pritt stick and glue called "Craft Glue", but have had no success, the embellishments have fallen off if I give them a little tap!

Any suggestions please. Thanks.

I guess you mean plastic embellishments because I have the same problem. I find that Uhu is pretty good, or Araldite, but that's serious glue!!!

Thanks for that. The ones I am having problems with are not plastic, they are little metal (I think, but definitely not plastic) shiny ones. I think I might try a tube of superglue, but dont know if it is a good idea or not!

The normal Pritt stick is useless but I use Power Pritt stick. It's loads stronger than the normal one and is ideal for cardmaking.

Thanks, I have not noticed that before, but I will look out for it.

Have a look at some of the suggestions here: http://www.fredaldous.co.uk/trolleyed/625/631/index.htm

Online catalogue, or you may get one suitable at your local craft supplies shop

I use a tiny mini craft hot melt glue gun. It works quite well, but you just have to be careful with the whole stringy thing hot glue does especially if you are using delicate papers of card stock. Alternatively, just a pva should be good, just leave it to dry to a long while.

super glue should be fine on paper too, except if it is really porous like mullberry papers for example, you might find it bleeds terribly and leaves a mark. Alternativley, you could try and use an embellishment that has a small hole in the design and thread it onto some beautiful thread and hang it from the card. It is easy to glue thread on than metal.

don't know if that's helpful, but happy crafting to you.

Many thanks for all replies.
I have been testing out different glue myself and I found a japanese brand called Deco princess that worked really well with paper, plastics, crystals etc. Got it off an online DIY store called gemmii.com they have alot of diy related kits and stuff. you may want to check it out.
