Does anyone know where I can get the anti-spider spray you put in the house? Has anyone tried it and got a result?

never heard of an anti-spider spray, there is spider hoover, you can buy them from catalogues like Betta-Ware, my sister has one, and they are pretty good, sucks the spider up, then you release it outside, unharmed. me, if I see one, I give it a name, and leave it to get on with its life.
Get a cat - mine love to eat em!
My wife just had a fight with her Miele and a spider.........the spider won!
Any suggestions how to trap it will be gratefully received.
I knew of someone who sprayed her ceilings and wall corners with an all- insect spray once a month and she claimed she never had problems with webs and spiders. Personally, you might be getting rid of the spiders but this insecticide can't be doing any good to human lungs... After seeing a documentary on spiders I now see them quite differently and feel guilty getting rid of cobwebs. A pity we can't see them as works of art instead of something 'dirty'. Cobwebs catch flies too.

I more than sympathise!

In garden centres you can get a spray known as the "creepy crawly spray" I bought some for the spider reason but was berated by the staff when they knew I wanted to kill spiders and was reminded of all the good that they do. Well true, but they don't do me or my nerves any good!

my wife is terrified of them and there is a product from bettaware called spider stop which works a treat, its a spray Hope it helps
I appreciate that we shouldn't kill spiders. Really, I do. But being one of those people who are paralysed with fear at the sight of one (call it irrational if you like) I cannot bear to see them in my home. We had a homing spider once - and he/she was a real monster. Every night my husband would put it out of the front door when we went to bed - and every morning, without fail, it was lurking under the bed throw which we had thrown onto the floor! One night it really terrified me. I was home alone and not having the courage to capture it in the spider catcher (a plastic cotton bud container and a sheet of A4 paper!), I decided the vacuum cleaner had to come out. He/she was too crafty for that and hid under the bed for 3 hours until my husband came home. In the meantime, I sat bolt upright in the middle of the bed, clutching the vacuum nozzle and waited for morning to come. The spider, by the way, surrendered to my husband and hurtled off into the undergrowth when released out of the front door!
I was wondering if those machines they advertise on the sky shopping channels work. Has anybody got one of them.? you have to plug them in.

lilacben I haven't heard of them but will keep my eyes open. Funnily enough Bettaware dropped a leaflet at the weekend so I ordered the spray. Lol kenzie I think you should have been charging that spider rent....or at least sent her out to get a job.

I know it's a shame but THEY MUST DIE. After discovering one last year the size of a side plate, and with Mr Sunflower away this month I am dreading what I might find lurking.

sunflower 68, the spider won the battle of wills - he was back in again that night!
