I'm assuming its an indoor variety you have, is it ? Anyway what ever the case may be, they do heve the habbit of resprouting after hard pruning,if you cut it back by about 50%, if its still alive it should hopefully sprout somewhere along the stem and if this happens you could cut just above the new shoot once its well established. Good Luck with it.
